Achenbach SES as associate member of the Aluminum Association
Alliance, Ohio; October 2023:

The Joint Venture Achenbach SES LLC, established in 2016, successfully applied for an associate membership at the Aluminum Association. On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the association in Washington D.C., Steffen Geisweid and John P Wallace took the opportunity to get acquainted with the organization and people involved. 100+ delegates made this event an interesting place for networking and making acquaintances. The Association represents companies that make 70% of the aluminum and aluminum products shipped in North America, comprising a workforce of more than 164,000 employees in the United States.
The Joint Venture provides large benefits for all operating companies of rolling and slitting of thin gauges in North America’s non-ferrous industry. Achenbach’s cooperation as leading and experienced technology provider from Germany with SES LLC (www.seseng.com) in the US as a recognized supplier of high-quality machinery for the metal processing industry and service provider, stand for first-class technical solutions. The package for potential customers starts with professional consultation, engineering, and supplies, from a single spare part up to complex projects (revamp and new) including latest trends in sustainability, reduced energy consumption, and exhaust emissions, as well as digitalization.
We´re proud to be an associate member of the Aluminum Association, and we look forward to presenting best in class solutions to the North American producers.

An important change was the new location of the fair, which was in Louisville/Kentucky instead of Nashville/Tennessee. 118 international exhibitors presented their aluminum products and services, from production to processing, for approximately 2,500 visitors. As at the previous fair, our joint venture Achenbach SES had a joint stand with SES Salico.
ALUMINIUM USA was characterized by a comparatively high number of visitors and the quality of contacts and discussions due to the changes of the North American market for flat-rolled products made of aluminum and copper alloys: The combination of high penalty duties on imports and the pandemic-related disruption of supply chains seems to be fueling the willingness to invest in local production sites. Thus, on the one hand, many rolling mills that have been shut down for years are being reactivated, and on the other hand, new plants are again conceivable. In both cases, Achenbach is happy to contribute with its own expertise and the support of SES. Parallel to the trade fair contacts, we have also received further project inquiries from North America, which seem to confirm the increased investment interest. Subsequent customer visits served to get to know new prospects and to present Achenbach’s portfolio.air, which was in Louisville/Kentucky instead of Nashville/Tennessee. 118 international exhibitors presented their aluminum products and services, from production to processing, for approximately 2,500 visitors. BATTERYTECH USA 2020
On February 24-25, 2020 the Battery Tech USA Conference was held in Los Angeles. This conference focused on the current status and the latest developments in the market for car batteries for electric vehicles. Achenbach-SES participated in order to acquire information in market development and the latest status of technological battery foil requirements. A considerable part of the aluminum foil needed for the battery’s cathode as a carrier material is rolled on Achenbach OPTIMILL® Foil Rolling Mills and is then slit to the requested width on Achenbach OPTIFOIL® Slitting Machines.
With production volumes increasing, the manufacture of the cell and module, up to the assembly of the car battery, still takes place mainly in Asia. However, further production plants are planned in Europe and North America. ACHENBACH will contribute to these expansions, amongst others, to include a rolling mill producing battery foil grades which will commissioned in Hungary in 2021.

Looking Back On Aluminum USA 2019, Nashville Tennessee
Nashville Tennessee
In September 2019, Achenbach SES took part in the ALUMINUM USA Trade Show and Conference held in Nashville, TN. ALUMINUM USA has grown to one of the largest aluminum industry networking platforms in North America featuring representatives from raw materials to semi-finished products and recycling, including producers of equipment and high-end machinery and technology.
